This is a great little light colored parachute fly. I like the light colored flies for visibility in the dark waters I fish most often. The pattern is pretty straightforward, and the speckled Guinea wing post is a nice touch. the angle and distance the fly is shot at isn’t ideal, but the video is loaded with tips for tying bullet-proof, cork-like parachutes.

This is a wonderful pattern by Hans Van Klinnken tied with laser precision by Hans Stephenson. Hans ties this one to perfection using techniques I prefer on parachutes. Finishing the fly on the post ensures that you have no hackle strewn eyes. Add a touch of super glue on the thread before you tie it off for a bulletproof emerger.
Improved? I’ll have to cast a couple to be sure. Thanks to Paul Harper over at Fly Fish Calgary for bring this one to our attention. I’m not sure what to make of it except that it’s entertaining and I do believe there is something to a fly this buggy.
