Kennedy VS Borger

Well, Happy New Year!

One of my resolutions is to be a more consistent blogger, meaning I’ll need to update at least a couple times a week if not everyday. We’ll see where that goes. 😉

Jeff Kennedy from the Drawing flies 365 blog, and Jason Borger from Fish, Flies and Water [blog] are going head to head in a weekly exhibition of fly art. It’s interesting to note how each artist interprets the pattern. Jeff has a more classic take on the Mickey Finn while Jason presents a more progressive pattern, taking advantage of body tubing.

Here are the 2 results from week one. This should pan out to be a great project and I’m looking forward to seeing all the results.

Drawing Flies 365 in action

Jeff from Drawing Flies 365 just posted a great video that outlines his process. Take a couple minutes to watch the video and try your hand at this. I do doodle a lot of flies, but they never have the same appeal Jeff brings to the paper. Drawing flies in getting close to completion, but I know Jeff has some other ideas that we can all relate to coming down the pipeline and hopefully we’ll see Brook make an appearance soon. Check out Jeff drawing Winter’s Hope.
