Here is another offering tied up by Davie McPhail. Here we have a classic Frank Sawyer Killer Bug. This pattern uses the now hard to find Chadwicks 477 wool. If you find a spool of it, you might be able to get a premium for it on eBay. I’ve seen a card of this discontinued color go for as much as 40.00US and I’ll bet the price will only increase with time.
Here is another spey flavoured offering. I’ve posted some video of Davie’s flies on here before and as always, his videos are well done and offer some great instruction. This spey fly is done in 2 parts, as the last video we had was as well. I think that You Tube needs to extend their time limits past 10 minutes. he has a wee bit of an accent, but it’s easy enough to understand. Pay close attention to part 2 if you need help properly setting the wings.

Here is a new video uploaded by Davie McPhail I just stumbled upon on You-Tube. He’s likely best known for his classic Atlantic Salmon flies, and I’m sure I’ll be sharing more of his ties in the future. So, here is one of his latest videos, sit back, relax and learn.
