Here is the latest installment from Riseform Studios continuing fly tying series. John Collins ties up a Conehead Crayfish, a meaty bass pattern with some heft. Not just for the bassman, the steelhead angler should find some value in this pattern for his prey this season.
My friend Robert over at Castingoutloud.com has put together a nice video tutorial about tying up a top water Bass fly. There are a couple techniques to note as he ties with GSP (Gel Spun Polyethylene) and uses some nice methods to trim the fly to shape. This looks like a great fly for Bass species and perhaps even some large trout.
Here is something for you Bass, Salmon, Steelhead, Pike and Gar hunters to give a shot. I think the trophy brookies would be interested in a closer look as well. This is a slick looking pattern tied up by Andy Burk. As always, there is some great production in the video and some easy follow instruction.
