The Fly Tyers 12 days of Christmas

In my tradition of reworking the lyrics to almost any Christmas song, I figured it was time we put a fly tyer’s spin on things. As a kid, growing up in Canada, we often rewrote the “12 days of Christmas” to the “12 days of Hockey”. It went something like this, but changed every year.

12 brand new sticks
11 rolls of tape
10 minute misconduct
9 shots on net
8 body checks
7 playoff finals
6 points a game
5 Golden Pucks
4 new jerseys
3 pairs of skates
2 penalty shots
and a brand new Stanley Cup ring.

This year, you get to sing about a bunch of fly patterns. I’ll be adding a new one every day until Christmas.

On the first day of Christmas my Ghillie tied for me,  a Soft Hackle Partridge and Orange.

Partridge and Orange

Pishtech Real World Fly Fishing Game

What better way to chase away shack nasties than to go land a few bass, steelhead or cutties. I started playing this game last year, but I have an older version than the version 3 in the demo video. The new fly tying feature looks like it add an interesting spin on the game and I’m curious to see how that all works. Another cool feature is that you can download some additional fishing spots via the Pishtech site. You can download this for 40 bucks or if you want the CD, pay an extra 10 and have it shipped out. I’m not going to upgrade quite yet, but I think I’m going to log off here and go try and catch some steelhead.

Pishtech, if you are reading, please send me an up to date version so I can give it a proper review. 🙂 For more info, visit Pishtech on the Internets
