I’ve used Disco yarn for a few leeches in the past with some decent results for trout. Michael Frank from Frank’s Fly Art. uses a ton more to tie flies for hunting pike. This is a BAF pike fly, and with all that trailing yarn, I’m not sure if you would even need a hook targeting pike. There are some nice color combos mentioned in the video and some good tips for working with the Disco yarn. I think this would also be good for the Gar pike and the bass.
