Red and Black Death – Country Pleasures

It’s cold here today, so i figured we could use some warm water, tropical fly representation. This one is called a Red and Black Death. I don’t tie much for saltwater flies, so it’s nice to see how to build them. The marabou between the saddles looks like a nice way to keep things separate. There is also a nice little tutorial on finishing the fly using the Tuffleye resin. Between the Zap-a-gap and the Tuffleye, this hook is going to be bullet-proof. The toothy critters are out gunned here. If you aren’t headed somewhere tropical, put a few of these into your Pike box. You’ll be happy you did.
