Stroli Sculpin

I’ve been twisting up big deer hair flies today in preparation for hunting pike and gar. Here is a pattern I found while doing some searching. It is another Richard Strolis pattern, and as alwyas, he has a knack for tying flies and this was an enjoyable episode. I would use a different eye, as the doll eyes have a paper backing that can come apart when it get wet and flung. Super gluing some prism molded eyes would be killer. Enjoy it.

A killer deer hair sculpin pattern that is pretty quick and easy to tie. A spin off of the muddler minnow with lots of motion when actively stripped in the water column.
