Carl Pennington has a great little tutorial for tying up this fly. It is a simple pattern, and what I really like about it that it is quick to tie, it will easily float a nymph, and it has a great natural looking taper. The key to the taper is the bias cut into the tie down end of the foam. Just three materials for this quick and easy pattern. Enjoy!
Hook: Standard dry
Thread: Brown 6/0 (Smaller may cut through the foam. You can switch after the foam is tied in)
Body: Razor foam or 2mm closed cell foam
Wing: Elk or deer hair
Hackle: Brown dry fly hackle
