[wp_campaign_1]
I was going to post this Saturday, but some of these auctions end soon, so enjoy the hunt.

This Warren Duncan shadowbox is a great find. (Ends very soon) The seller 1hersheydog has some amazing items up for auction right now including flies by Gary Lafontaine, Paul Whillock, Alec Jackson, Al Troth and bob Mead to name a few. He also has a great collection of books. I may need to take that limited edition copy of Rare and Unusual Fly tying Materials of his hands.

This box is just amazing. Just read the description.

All the flies were purchased by me from well-known realistic fly-tyer Bob Mead – a very nice gentleman indeed. Here is the letter he wrote me explaining all the flies contained inside this shadowbox – if you purchase this, you may of course wish to arange them differently – since they were all purchased at the same time and addressed in his letter – i included them all in one single framed shadowbox. ‘Dear Rusty: In regard to this group of flies. Gary LaFontaine tied the tagged Lady Anderson wet fly in Ct. in 1972. Dave Whitlock tied the tiny shrimp pattern at a tying demo at L.L. Bean in 1983. The saltwater fly was tied by Ken Bay at a Rhode Island seminar in 1972. There are 1/2 a dozen flies tied by Wes Sanford in 72 and a neat crayfish pattern tied by Don Brown a VFTs. The 2 hornbergs were tied by Joe Sterling in 1972. The group of 3 flies were tied by Ted Barberi in 71 and the box of 9 flies were tied by J. King Danielson in 1970. The realistic stonefly is of course by Paul Whillock of England a good friend of mine. Best Regards — Bob Mead.”

I also included a very realistic Ladybug tied by Mr. Mead in the collection as well along with his signed card.

This is one of the largest lots I have even seen on eBay. It looks like the inventory of a department that has gone out of business. Enough materials to last a lifetime, or start a serious addiction. The price is pretty good at the moment.
